Trade Talk: Multi Color Flowers

The world of flower trading is colorful and dynamic. Every day, countless companies ensure that flowers from all over the world reach the right destination. In our “Trade Talk” feature, we spotlight one of these players each time. This time, Multi Colour Flowers takes centre stage and transports us into the world of colour.

A Colour Pioneer in the World of Flowers

For more than thirty years, Multi Color Flowers has specialized in dyeing flowers. What started out small has grown into a company renowned for its striking, custom-coloured assortments. Using specially developed dyeing techniques, the team transforms flowers into true works of art.

“Dyeing is our core business, and that’s where we set ourselves apart,” says Dion Cavallo, who is responsible for purchasing and sales. The team of around thirty employees shares the same passion: almost every product can be adapted and coloured, ensuring the assortment remains innovative and surprising.

Altaj: A Star in Colour

One of the favourites at Multi Color Flowers is the chrysanthemum variety Altaj. “We are very satisfied with this variety. The colours really come to life, and my colleague Fabian has even developed a special colour palette for it.”

Altaj features a beautiful, distinctive flower shape, a strong vase life, and lends itself perfectly to dyeing in both one-tone and two-tone finishes. According to Dion, Altaj is still far from reaching its peak, and he even predicts a further increase in demand for this variety.

What Makes Altaj Stand Out

Altaj stands out thanks to its combination of quality and appearance. The flower colours beautifully, catches the eye, and its long vase life makes it highly suitable for trade. These characteristics make the variety commercially attractive, especially for customers looking for something unique.

A Variety for the Professional Market

Multi Color Flowers does not sell directly to end customers; distribution is handled through exporters. Altaj is mainly purchased by exporters who supply wholesalers in Eastern Europe and the premium segment. Feedback has been positive, both from the market and via social media.

“We regularly receive messages on Instagram from florists asking how they can get our products when their exporter doesn’t have a particular colour in stock,” says Dion. “They want to know where else they can obtain it.”

Availability and Reliability

Overall, Altaj is generally readily available, although the variety can sometimes be slightly more expensive. According to Dion, it is worth it: “The combination of dyeing quality, vase life, and the reputation of the variety makes Altaj commercially attractive. Once it gets going, it practically sells itself.”

Colour Opens Doors

At Multi Color Flowers, creativity is given free rein. By constantly experimenting with new colour combinations and techniques, the assortment continues to grow. The team is always looking for combinations that give flowers a surprising and unique appearance. And according to Dion, there is one clear motto: the wilder, the better!
